Our organization provides outreach eye care services to poor population by organizing screening camps in tribal, rural, semi-rural, semi urban and urban areas with minimum 20 camps per month with 150 OP per camp and 5 Vision Centers serving 30 OP per day.

We have been collaborating with District Blind Control Societies of Andhra Pradesh (under NPCP) since inception in two Godavari districts. These Government agencies give grants for the cataracts surgeries that we perform, particularly among the BPL families in the state. Recognizing our flawless work, District Authorities have designated us as Nodal agencies for tribal eye care. We conduct camps with the support of Government health staff across districts. This is a remarkable contribution as a collaborator with Government. We believe in Together for Health: Eye Health Care. As a result, DEF has established a strong reputation in the development and provision of eye health care services in the Government sector.

This is achieved by developing new ways of working with Eye Care Plan consisting of:

1. Raising awareness of eye health and the need for regular sight tests.
2. Early detection of eye health and sight problems mostly targeted for people at risk.
3. Providing access to high quality, integrated services and support that DEF co-ordinates and delivers services through Government approved camps (20 minimum a month and Vision Centers) with and for people living within their local and tribal communities.

We work with 20 local CBOs for outreach services or international non-governmental agencies-Like LV Prasad, Rotary, Lions, FICCL and SEE International for technical and financial services.
